AdministrationThe Administration and Education Core (core 5) is the organizational center of the Integrative Cancer Biology Program (ICBP). The Core consists of the ICBP Director, Dr. Joe Gray and co-Director, Dr. Frank McCormick. It supports all of the ICBP projects, cores, and ICBP investigators by providing assistance with communications, ICBP proposal preparation and submission, budgetary oversight, and intellectual property issues. The Administration and Education Core facilitates and stimulates interaction between ICBP investigators at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California, San Francisco, SRI International and Netherlands Cancer Institute by organizing meetings including the ICBP weekly meeting, and seminars. The Core will also organize a range of educational activities in coordination with the ICBP consortium. All seminars, group meetings, courses and conferences are available by video conference to facilitate participation by ICBP participants at disperse sites. Dr. Gray provides overall guidance for the Program in consultation with Dr. McCormick, the ICBP Steering Committee and External Advisory Board. Administrative ContactLori Salles Email the Program. Steering CommitteeThe ICBP Steering Committee is the managing body of the ICBP. The committee is comprised of all project and core leaders. This group meets quarterly to create policy, evaluate progress and track the activities of the ICBP and other ICBP centers. External Advisory BoardThe ICBP External Advisory Board (EAB), drawn from experts outside the ICBP meets annually to review progress, assess Project and Core performance, and during renewal years, review plans for the competitive renewal applications. The committee provides feedback to the ICBP investigators, helping to ensure that the work of the projects and cores are in line with the Program’s goals. The EAB composition is reviewed and adjusted annually by the Steering Committee. In general, it will be selected to provide advice on pathway modeling, analytical technology development, cancer biology, drug development and predictive marker assessment. The annual EAB meeting is attended by all EAB members and ICBP project and core leaders. The 2006 meeting took place September 26. Members are:
